2019 KCA Family Trip Competition Terms and Conditions

    The "2019 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in partnership with Wimpy" Family Trip Competition (the "Competition") is open from Wednesday 6 February 2019, and will close on Monday 25 February 2019 at 23:59pm.

2.   The promoter of the Competition is Viacom International Media Networks Africa (Pty) Ltd of 1 Saxon Road, Hyde Park, Johannesburg, 2196, Tel: +27 11 4282903 (the "Promoter").

3.   To be eligible (the "Eligibility Requirements") to enter, entrants must:

      a. be between the ages of 4-15 years old as of 1 February 2019; Parents or Guardians are able to enter on behalf of their child(ren).

be a resident of South Africa;

      c. possess a valid passport (accompanying family members must also hold a valid passport). Passports must qualify with all requirements under an entrant’s local law;
      d. possess a current US visa, or be eligible to successfully apply for a US visa (accompanying family members must also hold a current US visa or be eligible to successfully apply for a US visa); and
      e. be available to travel to the US between 19 March 2019 and 26 March 2018. Departure and return dates will be confirmed with the winner.
4.   To enter the Competition, entrants must visit the Nickelodeon Africa website on www.nickelodeonafrica.com, navigate to the competition microsite and complete the entry form, answering the easy question. Entrants will be able to enter a maximum of 2 times throughout the campaign.

5.   Once an entrant has submitted their entry, they will have the option of securing 5 additional bonus entries into the Competition. To secure bonus entries, entrants must follow the directions on the entry confirmation page. Securing bonus entries is optional and opting to not take advantage of the bonus entries does not affect the entry(s) already submitted. Should an entrant opt in (by clicking the CLICK HERE TO GET YOUR EXTRA ENTRIES button) to secure bonus entries, they will be taken to a second entry page where they are to upload a photo of them and their family enjoying a Wimpy Kids’ Combo Meal and filling out the required details.

      a. Photos should be clear, with the Wimpy Kids Meal clearly visible. Eligibility will be determined by the promoter.
      b. Entrants should retain their Wimpy till slip as proof, and the date on the till slip should fall within the competition dates (6 – 25 February 2019).
        The information supplied on this entry form should match the information supplied on the initial (main) entry form in order to be eligible.
      c. Entrants will have only one opportunity to submit a photo, duplicate entries will be disqualified.
6.   By submitting an entry in accordance with clauses 4 and 5 all entrants hereby grant to Promoter and its respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliated companies a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, copy, adapt, transmit, broadcast, publish or delete any information or other material including without limitation, the entrant’s name, entry, photographs, likeness, biographical information, voice, text, images, designs, audio and/or video clips submitted in entering or any statement made by them concerning the Competition, by any means and in any and all media as they, in their discretion, see fit. Entrants hereby warrant and undertake that they have all rights necessary to make such assignments and grant such rights as set out in this clause . To any extent necessary, all entrants agree that they will at Promoter’s request, do and execute all further acts, deeds, documents and instruments as Promoter may from time to time require for the purposes of giving effect to the assignment of rights contained in this clause 6. 7.   Once the entrant has filled in further details required on the Competition entry page, including confirmation that their parent/guardian has consented, and that they and their family members possess valid passports, they will be able to submit their entry into the Competition.

8.   At the end of the Competition, one (1) winner will be randomly selected from all correct and valid entries.

9.   The winner will be contacted between 27 February and 01 March 2019.


  The following prize (the "Prize") will be awarded:

      a. Main Prize: 1 x trip for the winner and 3 of his/her family members to Los Angeles, California, which includes the following benefits:  
      b. 4 x return Economy Class tickets to the US  
      c. 5 nights’ hotel accommodation in California on a bed and breakfast basis;  
      d. Exclusive access to the 2019 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards Show;  
      e. Nickelodeon Animation Studio Tour;  
      f. Universal Studios Park Admission; and  
      g. Per Diem allowance for all 4 traveling family members.  
11.   US Visa costs covered by the Promoter. All other visa requirements are the sole responsibility of the entrant.

12.   any cost not referred to above, including but not limited to additional meals, travel insurance, incidentals, gratuities, telephone calls, spending money, any applicable personal taxes, or any personal expenses, do not form part of the Prize, and will be for the winners own account.

13.   The award of the Prize is subject to the consent of the winner's parent or legal guardian; if consent is not given then the winner will be disqualified.

14.   If the winner declines the Prize, cannot be contacted timeously, is disqualified for failing for comply with any of the Eligibility Requirements or for any other reason in the Promoter's discretion, a further winner will be chosen until the Prize is awarded and accepted. If the winner and/or any one of their chosen accompanying family member's US visa application is delayed and/or denied for whatever reason, the Promoter shall have the right to disqualify the winner.

15.   The Promoter's decision on any matter concerning the Competition, including but not limited to the selection of the Competition winner, and/or arising out of these terms and conditions is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.

16.   The Promoter and its affiliates will not be responsible for any harm, damage, loss or claim relating to the provision of any element of the Prize or any changes to the Prize that may be made at any time. The Prize is not transferable and may not be deferred, changed or exchanged for cash or any other item.

17.   Employees of the Promoter, its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, associated and group companies and any other company involved in this Competition, their families and agents, are not eligible to participate in this Competition.

18.   By entering this Competition, entrants agree that they will be bound by these terms and conditions as well as the General Competition Rules and Privacy Policy which can be found on the Nickelodeon website.

19.   These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of South Africa. The participant consents to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the High Courts of South Africa (Gauteng Provincial Division, Pretoria / Gauteng Local Division, Johannesburg), in respect of all matters arising out of or in connection with the Competition or these terms and conditions.

20.   If any provision of these terms and conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable by any court of competent jurisdiction, then that provision shall be severed from these terms and conditions, and shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any remaining provisions.

21.   It is not intended that any provision of these terms and conditions contravenes any provision of the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008, and therefore all provisions of these terms and conditions must be treated as being qualified, if necessary, to ensure that the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act are complied with.
